The Albufeira area is principally famed for its superb beaches; dreamy expanses of white sand trimmed with spectacular golden cliffs, uniquely sculpted by a clear azure sea.
Praia da Coelha, an enchanting cove beach between colourful cliffs is only a five-minute walk from our holiday apartments and villas and offers superb bathing and pleasant walks. Also in the immediate vicinity are the splendid beaches of São Rafael and Praia da Sardinha with its amazing rock formations and dramatic waves.
Albufeira itself embraces a sublime sandy crescent comprising several magnificent beaches; Pescadores (Fishermen’s Beach), Inatel and others. Each is well served by beach-bars and restaurants and there is a full range of water activities on offer including sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing and scuba diving.
Praia da Oura and the beaches to the east of the city, e.g. Praia da Falésia and Praia da Santa Eulália, are popular family choices, meanwhile for quieter bathing, the coves westward towards the mesmerising ribbon of sand at Praia da Galé and Salgados are not to be missed.

Impressive rock formations surround the beach. The beach is reached by walking through pleasant fields and is accessed by wooden stairs. The original vegetation has been conserved and erosion has formed large clefts in the cliff, creating footpaths.

A small strip of sand around 200 meters long sheltered by a cliff, with 30 meters high, jagged, rocky walls with clefts providing bathers with small coves and bays. The beach is accessed by wooden stairs.
There is an unpaved parking area with a paved access road. The beach is named after the watchtower built in the middle of the 16th century to guard the coast from North African pirates. The ruins can be seen beside one of the developments on the way to the beach.
Evaristo beach is a large sandy beach encircled by beautiful scenery. Ringed by a fractured cliff with small bluffs emerging from the sea, the beach offers good infrastructure and amenities.
It has a parking area near the beach with spaces for people with reduced mobility and the beach is accessed by stairs and ramp. The beach is named after the famous restaurant to be found here.
If celebrity spotting is a favorite summer pastime, this is the beach for you as it attracts many of the famous faces that regularly crop up in Portuguese high society magazines. Gigantic rocks litter the sand and under the water, inviting snorkelers to view the underwater rocks, where the marine life is abundant.
São Rafael Beach is a large sandy and picturesque beach encircled by beautiful scenery and flanked by limestone cliffs. There are some fascinating, fractured cliffs with small bluffs emerging from the sea, such as Ponte Pequena (small bridge) and Ninho das Andorinhas (swallows’ nest).
